🍑 The Peach Pie Contest is Back! Join Us for Our 13th Annual Peach Festival on August 2
If summer at the Riverview Farmers Market had an official flavor, it would be New Jersey peaches.
One of our favorite Sundays of the year is almost here! On Sunday, August 2, we’ll be celebrating our 13th Annual Perfect Peach Pie & Cobbler Contest with an entire market dedicated to one of New Jersey’s sweetest traditions.
Whether you’re baking, tasting, volunteering, or simply stopping by for a fun Sunday in the park, there’s something for everyone.
Think You’ve Got the Best Peach Pie in New Jersey?
We’re looking for amateur bakers ready to put their favorite peach pie or cobbler to the test. To enter:
- 🍑 Use New Jersey peaches
- 🥧 Submit a homemade peach pie or peach cobbler
- ⏰ Bring your entry to the Riverview Farmers Market by 11:30 AM on August 2 (no entries accepted after 12 PM)
The winning baker will receive:
- 🎁 A prize basket filled with gifts from local businesses and market vendors valued at $300+
- 📖 Their recipe featured on the Riverview Farmers Market website and social media
- 🏆 Bragging rights!
We’ll also award prize baskets for second and third place!
Come Hungry — Free Pie Tasting Returns!
Our judges will begin tasting pies at 12:00 PM, but one of the biggest traditions of the day belongs to everyone else. From approximately 12:30–1:30 PM, we’ll slice up the contest entries for FREE public sampling.
Every year this becomes one of the busiest—and most delicious—hours of the market. Get there early because once the pie is gone…it’s gone!

Our Peach Festival is one of the largest events we host all year, and it simply wouldn’t happen without volunteers. If you’ve ever wanted to help behind the scenes, we’d love to have you join us.
Whether you’re helping check in pies, assisting with tasting, keeping things organized, or cheering on our bakers, you’ll play an important role in making the day memorable for hundreds of visitors.
Why We’re Celebrating This Year
This spring was especially difficult for New Jersey peach growers, making this year’s harvest particularly meaningful. Our Peach Festival has always been about more than pie. It’s about celebrating local agriculture, supporting New Jersey farmers, and bringing our community together around one of the state’s most iconic summer traditions.
